Cornish Pasties

Cornish Pasties

First, get the equipment ready.

Next, get the ingredients. 

Put the meat, potato, onion, swede, and water into the bowl, and season with a few twists of black pepper. 

Mix everything together. 

On a lightly floured surface, divide the pastry into four.

Take one piece of pastry, and roll it out. Put a plate on top and cut around it to make a circle of pastry. 

Spoon some filling in the middle of the circle. 

Next, brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg.

Pull up the two opposite sides of pastry and pinch them together all the way along.  

Brush with beaten egg.

Transfer the pasty onto the baking tray.

Repeat this with the remaining pastry and filling.

Wearing oven gloves, place the tray into the hot oven. 

Bake for one hour.

Wearing oven gloves, remove the pasties from the oven, and allow to cool.
