The aim of the Food Teacher Professional Portfolio (FTPP) was to enable food teachers, at all stages of their careers, to audit, plan, organise and record their professional development.

The programme formally started in January 2016 and ended in July 2018.

Nearly 2,300 HLTAs, trainee, new and more experienced teachers of secondary food and nutrition registered for the programme (exceeding the original target of 2,000) and a wide range of experiences and levels of knowledge and skills were represented.

9 out of 10 teachers who responded to the end of programme survey said that they were more confident and competent to teach secondary food and nutrition due to being engaged with the FTPP programme.
